This past weekend...

This is how we spent our weekend!

The walls & roof were finished.
Hubby & his friends have a BBQ competition next weekend.
So..., Building progress is going to be on hold next weekend.
But this will give me some sewing time.

Note: David is "kicked back" & reading his book.

 Close up of David reading

John did some drawing. He is doing a drawing for one of my coworkers from a photo she liked.
Will post more on this later.

I saw these beautiful strawberries and couldn't pass them up.
This is what I did with them.

I started cutting fabric to make a dresden plate quilt.
I am wanting to make something bright and cheerful.

This is the fabric plan to use for background.
This is what I have in mind.
Of course, this is subject to change.
I'm still not sure about the center fabric for the Dresden plate.

This is one of my WIPs.
This is one of those projects that I didn't buy enough fabric to complete. I need to add a border and I need to find fabric for the backing. I purchased the fabric at JoAnns, so I'm hoping they will get more in stock.

This is another WIP.
I purchased this kit a few years back at the Houston International Quilt Show.
The vendor was "The Hen House" I have learned to check their booth early when I arrive as their kits sometimes sell out quickly. Every year they have something I have to have.

Progress

Waxing Moon Design-Eat, Drink, And Be Scary.
This project was quick, fun, and easy.
Started March 10, 2011 and Completed March 12, 2011

 "Bethlehem"
Designed by Diane Arthurs. Published by Imaginating. I started this project last Fall and finished March 18, 2011. I had intentions of having this finished for Christmas, but it did not happen. I stitched this on 14 count Aida fabric with a variegated DMC thread. The thread kept breaking and I got frustrated due to this. But I kept on going. The finished size of the project design is 3" x 20 1/4".

1st post

This is my first post. My husband has started building me a craft studio. I'm so excited!!! This has been a dream of my for years. Of course, I think he has an ulterior motive. He wants all of my "clutter" out of the house.
